Chuck Bartowski

As I mentioned a couple of times before, I’m currently writing a blog on American TV-shows. This job is pretty amazing considering that I get money (even if it’s not a lot) for writing about things I love. I don’t feel as if watching these shows is really a job, since I would do so anyway.

So, my favorite show at the moment is Chuck. I wrote an article about it when I had only seen the pilot with just basic information in it. Now that I have seen all of the first season and about half of the second I must say, it’s a terrific show. It’s about a nerd and how he gets to be a spy. I believe it appeals to men and women alike. It has lots of action in it (got an Emmy for stunt work) and romance as well.

The characters are realistic and come across very natural. Additionally they offer certain qualities one doesn’t necessarily expect in a comedy. They are well rounded, deep and have a lot of potential. I’m very glad that NBC decided to order a full third season airing in January. I’m so excited to see their development and as weird as it sounds, at some point the end. I always feel that the way a series ends is almost as important as the beginning. You want to be satisfied, get closure and have to live withe the fact that there will never be another episode of it. So the writers really have to do a good job, and I’m crossing my fingers that they will do so with Chuck (three knocks on wood).

Chuck is a show I would love to discuss, or better analyze, with others. I could talk about the characters, especially Chuck and Sarah, all day long and would not get tired of it. I hope one day classes like that can be taken along side literature classes at any university. I would register right away!

So check it out if you get the chance.
