My 5 Top Movies (week #29, 2009)
- Wicker Park
- Disturbia
- Lucky # Slevin
- The Invisible
- The Butterfly Effect
My room mate and I watched a movie tonight: The Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher. I love this movie. I had seen it once before and while watching it I started remembering scenes from it. To be honest there are some sick things happening in this movie but life isn’t all nice and shiny, that’s how it is. What disturbed me was that the version we were watching had an alternative ending to the one I’d seen a few years back. I’m a hundred percent sure that Evan had to die in order to save Kaley (or whatever you spell her like)! The only way to make her life and his mom’s life turn out relatively O.K. was to go back to when he was still inside his mom and kill himself. Although this sounds ridiculous I think it’s a much more dramatic ending than Evan and Kaley running into each other in NYC, well it’s actually passing each other since she doesn’t recognize him really. Anyway, I think the more drastic version is the one I will keep in mind when talking about this movie. Otherwise it would definitely not be one of my all time favorites!!
